Don’t Trade It In - Instead Sell Your Used Car

The easiest way to discard your used car is by trading it in on another car but it isn’t the most cost efficient way. To maximize your return it is best to sell your car yourself. This will however require additional work on your part.

The first thing you must do is to determine the value of your car and decide on a fair price. To help you determine this you can compare cars already for sale with the prices listed in your local newspaper classifieds or go online and visit Kelly Blue Book.

How To Avoid Buying A Lemon When You Buy A Car

Buying a new car is a heavy investment, and a car’s purpose is basically to take you from one destination to the next safely and fast, and comfortably. As it is a big investment in terms of money, the first consideration when you wish to buy a new car is to determine a market value on the vehicle.

To do this, check out the prices of the vehicle you are looking at. This can be done initially by checking web sites of car vendors. While car manufacturers have websites, you would either be dealing with the dealers or showrooms, and it makes sense for you to check the websites of notable dealers of the brand of car you are looking at.

Getting The Best Price For Your Used Car

You can get the best price for your used car only when a new care of the same model is being sold at the highest price. If a manufacturer gives discounted prices for a new car of the same model, you can’t sell your car at the best price. In other words, the best time to sell your used car is when the prices for the model you have are at the highest. Hence the important factor that affects the price of a used car is the price of a new car of that model you have with you. So it is better to wait until the price of a new car of your model goes up rather than selling it when the manufacturer gives discount for a new car of your model.

Preparing your car for selling it is a must. You have to consider what the potential buyer thinks of your car. So you have to maintain the interior and the exteriors of your car properly. If your car is not clean inside and out, the potential buyer may not think positively about your car. This simple issue might make you lose a possible deal. Therefore proper maintenance of your car is essential to fetch a good price for your used car. Some people might overlook some serious problems in the car if the car looks shiny and glowing. Touch up scratches on the exterior and interior. Make up the small dents in it. Balance the tires properly. Clean inside and out. This might fetch you a profitable deal.

Keep Those Tires and Wheels Clean!

Driving down the interstate you take the first exit leading to your favorite camping spot in the Blue Ridge Mountains. From that point on it is a thirty minute drive on winding, hilly roads before a final quick egress to a quarter mile long dirt path. With ease your SUV takes each hill and holds every curve with little strain on your engine or transmission. Before long you approach your final turn, slow down, and shift your SUV into four wheel drive. You delicately slip the front tires off of the pavement followed by the truck’s rear end and begin the nastiest, but most exhilarating journey of all: the washboard jaunt from roadway to camping spot. Over potholes and thick brush you finish the final leg of the trip and within minutes you pull into your private site overlooking the serene, broad valley below.

Driving an SUV gives you a chance to explore far flung areas that no other vehicle can possibly take you to, except for a four wheel drive truck. Your vehicle has been made for off road adventuring and only with the most difficult surface will it be able to prove its worth.

Used Car Buying Tips

Some of these used car buying tips won’t be new to you. Often the trick is just to apply what you already know. On the other hand, when it comes to expensive areas of life like buying a car, one new thing learned can save you hundreds of dollars. Try some of the following.

1. Make a low offer. Okay, you knew this one. A trick you may not have used, though, is to make a low offer, and then leave your phone number with the seller. Time has a way of making sellers desperate, especially after you just helped convince them that they are asking too much.

Performance Car Flair and Styling

Whether you own an ‘89 Toyota Supra Turbo, a ‘96 Ford Mustang GT convertible, or a 2004 Dodge Magnum SE, you have something in common with other owners: you appreciate performance. Truly, each of these three models as well as tens of others have kept up the performance under the hood while offering designs that are aesthetically unique and appealing. Chances are, however, you are not completely satisfied with your car’s look. Have you considered customization? If so, the costs can be quite high. Let’s look at three, easy to install accessories that can give your car that personalized look without busting your budget.

Car Bras – Popularized during the 1960s on select European models, car bras began to catch on in the U.S. by the early 1980s thanks to LeBra, a leading manufacturer of car bras. Early Supra models featured the beefy bras which offer both a styling flair and hood protection. Mustangs, Camaros, Corvettes, BMWs, and so many other cars are now sporting customized LeBra car bras. They look great on most vans, trucks, and SUVs too!

Financing Your Next Car

Not many people have sufficient on-hand resources to pay cash for a new/used car purchase. Most people HAVE to finance at least a major portion (about 80%) of any such acquisition. Most people just assume that financing through the car dealership is the simplest, easiest and most convenient way to go—and most people pay more than they need to because of that assumption!

Car dealerships rarely provide direct financing; i.e., they “partner” with a lending institution which provides funding to “qualified” buyers who apply for loans at car dealership offices. The lending institution accepts all the involved risk, while in most cases the dealerships accept a flat fee commission, a percentage of the total loan, and/or a bonus for each loan placement from their lending “partner.” This cost is paid for by the buyer through a higher loan rate. It might be simpler and easier to file for a loan at the car dealership, but please don’t assume that it doesn’t cost you for that convenience. In a small number of case, financing is provided, however the dealer does not receive any fee, percentage or bonus for placing the loan. The service is provided to make the car buying experience better and more convenient for the customer.

How to Get More Money from Your Online Car Listing

If you’ve ever put up an online classified ad for your car, it can be frustrating waiting for responses or worse never getting one at all. With my simple tips and techniques, your next listing will shine like polished chrome and you may end up with more money in your pocket.

First: Show potential buyers everything you mention in your ad. If you mention that your vehicle has an upgraded sports package or leather interior make sure you have pictures to prove it. Nothing hurts a sale worse than failing to show potential buyers “the goods” so to speak. One of the best ways of doing is through a video classified. I recommend http://www.salesnearu.com, you can provide buyers a full video presentation of your car that runs until it’s sold. Their video listings are very affordable (currently video ads are only $30) in addition to 12 images.

Used Cars

Used cars have become a very important and profitable segment of the car market. The appeal of buying used cars attracts people since it provides a cheaper alternative to buying cars when done correctly. To ensure that you are getting your money’s worth when buying used cars, it is very important to consider who you are getting the used car from. It is also very important to consider the costs when buying used cars; although you may get them at a cheaper price you have to ascertain that the car you will be paying for will almost always involve repair and maintenance costs later on. Not being able to foresee these costs may even set you back a larger sum.

Used cars may be acquired from used car dealers or their past owners. The quality of these cars must be carefully scrutinized by the buyers since there are a lot of deceptive dealers who sell used cars for more than they are actually worth.

If You Are Looking to Buy a Car You Should Begin with These Tips

1. You should purchase your new car at or around Christmas time because with everybody buying their Christmas presents, not many of them are looking to buy a new car, and it forces dealerships to increase their sales strategies.

Is a Classic Car Right For You?

A vintage or classic car can bring you great joy, but it may also be painfully expensive. The truth is vintage car ownership can sometimes be an illusion because not everyone is suited to the hobby, financially or otherwise. The good news is that by using these tips with caution you could soon be at the wheel of the car of your dreams. Some of which may be as old as the car you’re about to buy.

Ask yourself if you can really afford a vintage or classic, remembering that if something breaks it could end up costing a small fortune in repairs. This is especially true of rare or exotic vehicles. Parts may be hard to find, thus the car could be out of service for a lengthy period. Can you handle repairs on your own? Got the talent and experience for restoration? Great… but if not, be prepared to dig deep.

Top Tips when Buying a Used Car Privately

Every year in the UK over 7 million used cars are purchased, with many of these cars being purchased privately direct from the owner. Whilst this can often be the route to achieving the best bargains it can also become very expensive in cases when it emerges that the car has a number of problems or a previously unknown history. In order to reduce the likelihood of being caught out we’ve put together the top tips when buying a car privately: • The first step is to do some research about your desired car. Check classified ads and trade guides to get a good idea of prices. Parkers.co.uk is an excellent site and contains a free used car valuation tool and thousands of reviews and ratings. • Once you’ve decided on which car you’d like to buy and have found a possible seller always go and take a look at the car in daylight. • Take a friend along with you. If problems occur in the future it’s very useful to have a witness available to validate what was said. • Check that the car has not been clocked. The average mileage is 12,000 miles a year. Have a look at the tyres to see whether this looks right or if the car has new tyres ask the owner for details of its servicing history. • Always go for a test drive. However, make sure that you are insured to do so and if the seller says that he has cover ask to see his policy. • Carefully check the log book, officially known as the V5 or registration document. In particular look for the chassis number, known as the vehicle identification number (VIN). This will usually be located on a small plate on the driver’s door or in the engine bay. The absence of a VIN number strongly suggests that the car has assumed the identity of someone else, probably because it has been stolen at some point in its past. • You could also consider purchasing an AA Car Data Check. Importantly this will include a full description of the car, including engine size and date of first registration, so you can be sure of what you are buying. It will also tell you whether the car has a finance agreement recorded against it, if the car has been written off, and whether the car has had any number plate or colour changes. • The chances are that at some point you’ll enter into negotiations over the price. Have a highest price and target price in mind before entering into negotiations. If your two offers are some way apart you try not to say anything. Car salesmen use this tactic all the time as people find silence uncomfortable. Try this and the seller will often suggest meeting half way, at which point you can propose meeting half way between your offer and the new offer, getting yourself a better deal. • Finally, if interested in the car consider having it independently checked by a reputable garage. Reputable sellers will understand this so be wary if the owner of the car is against having it checked.
