1. CHOOSE LOWER OCTANE FUEL. Unless you have a high performance vehicle, there is no reason to purchase high-octane gas. Contrary to popular belief, putting higher priced fuel into your car does not benefit your cars engine or daily performance. Choose a lower octane, lower priced fuel instead.
2. USE THE A/C SPARINGLY. The more you used the air conditioner, the more gas is being used up.

As I stated in my previous article - It’s no big secret - gas prices are rapidly rising. This additional cost for fuel has become a financial burden for many consumers. This second installment to my first article gives more tips and advice on how to save money when filling your car up with gas.
Previously I mentioned the merits of performing regular routine maintenance on your vehicle. The benefit to do this will greatly reduce your fuel costs and save you money. It’s also a good idea to start a fuel log. The rational behind this is simple if you record all of your gas purchases and the mileage you travel you will start to develop the habit of knowing exactly how much that you are spending in fuel costs. Make sure to keep notes on where the cheapest gas stations can be found. You’ll want to use this log to see patterns of driving that you can change in order to cut down on your fuel costs.

Buying a vehicle is a big step in many individuals’ lives. Not only is it a great responsibility to keep the vehicle in good working order but it is a large financial responsibility as well. Prior to purchasing a vehicle, one should look into the financial options which relate to purchasing a car and figure out just how they are going to arrange to pay for the vehicle.
Cash Purchase
One of the most expensive purchases you will make in your lifetime after your home is the purchase of a new vehicle. Indeed, over your lifetime you may end up paying more for several vehicles then what you paid for one home. Once your car is paid off you will soon start to encounter a growing number of repairs that must be done in order to adequately maintain your car. At some point it may simply be better to purchase a new car instead of putting up with repairs. However, if you are interested in keeping your older car longer than let’s look at some tried and true ways you can save money on auto supplies, parts and accessories.
The Junkyard – You can save a mint by visiting your local salvage yard for a “new” bumper or a replacement radiator. True, you could buy these items new but you’ll pay a bundle for each part. The more common your model, the more likely your junkyard has what you want. Best of all, many modern day yards computer inventory all of their salvaged vehicles so a simple call to the yard can reveal whether that model is there or not.

For those of us who love cars an auto detailing business seems to be a good choice for a business to get into. You get paid to hang around and make the most exotic and pristine cars look even better. There is a sense of accomplishment when you are done too as you see that mirror shine.
Starting an auto detailing shop can be expensive of course, however if you start a mobile detailing company, well that does not cost a lot and all you need is some business cards, equipment and a good head for marketing and customer service. Well, you also need to know something about cars and work your way into the tougher jobs of buffing and using buffers without damaging paint later.
