Hydrogen Cars Are Not All Hot Air

Ever hear of hydrogen cars? This new breed of cars being developed far exceeds the current gasoline-electric hybrid cars as far as cleaning up the environment and lessening the U. S. dependence upon foreign oil. Automakers expect to have hydrogen cars in the showrooms in the next 5 – 10 years.

So, what’s all the hoopla about hydrogen? Plenty. Hydrogen is the most plentiful element in the universe. With such abundance, there is no change of running out unlike the fossil fuels. If you remember your high school chemistry, you’ll know that water is made up of two parts hydrogen and one part water.

Your Engine, Your Baby: Synthetic or Conventional Oil

One central argument between car enthusiasts and on Internet car forums alike is what oil is better for your car, synthetic or conventional. Before synthetic oils became available for regular automobiles, the argument centered solely on brand types and weight. But now, with the advent of these synthetics all over the market, what is truly the best choice for your engine? Let’s explore both of these worlds to find out.

Conventional oil is rated according to a SAE system. This scale is used so that you know what type of oil is best for your car given the environmental conditions (temperature, city driving, etc.) of where you live. The first number, for example on 10W30 motor oil, is 10 followed by a “W”. This “W” indicates that the number before it is the viscosity rating of the oil. The lower this number, the better the oil is for colder climates. The higher the number, the better it is for hotter driving conditions.

Which Is The Better Buy, Subaru Wrx Sti Or The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution?

One of the hardest decisions is deciding to buy a WRX STI or a Lancer Evolution. Both of the cars are very similar and are fantastic. The new MR edition (Mitsubishi Racing) has created a more competition for the WRX this year. The MR edition is not as quite as nice as the British version that sports 342 HP and a 60 thousand dollar price tag but it is better than last years Evolution. The new Lancer has 5 more ponies than last years model and has many more features that give the STI a run for its money.

We will start out with the Lancer Evolution MR edition. The lancer starts slightly under $35,000 and has many added benefits from last years Evolution. For starters it has more power because of redesigned airflow to the turbo, something that I believe should have happened a long time ago. Some say the biggest change is the new BBS wheels, the wheel way almost 3 pounds lighter than last years model. Also the true auto enthusiasts will spot the MR edition different with the cool new badging, and around the rear window the impressive “shark teeth” which are vortex generators with the ability to create 35% less lift at 110 mph and helps the wing create more down force by reducing turbulence.

Why Select 2-Strokes?

In our previous publication, we touched on the subject of 2-stroke diesel engines. Today, we ask why we choose to use 2-strokes?

As you might remember, for a 2-stroke engine, the piston has to move up, and then down to complete one cycle of the engine. In those 2 strokes of the piston, the crankshaft will have turned 1 revolution. In those 2 strokes of the piston the engine has also completed 4 stages of the combustion cycle - air intake, compression, combustion and exhaust.

How to Get Your Car’s Paint Smooth as Butter

Just washing your car won’t get the super shine and smoothness that is needed to preserve your paint. A smart auto enthusiast knows there are many steps involved when cleaning your automotive. In this article I am going to give a summary of the right steps when detailing your car.

#1 Pre-Wash The first thing I do when I am cleaning my car is pre wash the car. The pre washes purpose is to get everything off the paint to prepare it for the clay bar. When you are washing the car it’s also a good idea to get under the hood and degrease the engine if needed. Once you are finished washing it spray the soap off and don’t dry it.
