Honda cars are widely known for their staying power. Many of these cars continue to perform well, long after you buy them. This is probably why they retain such a good resale value. That’s a great incentive to own on, since eventually, everyone will want to sell their existing car to get a new one. If you are a Honda owner, you have the privilege of driving an award winning car. Recently, Honda was given the JD Power & Associates award for being the car with the most customer satisfaction ratings.
Honda’s Customer Insight Manager for the United Kingdom stated that it was Honda’s priority to make every customer a satisfied customer, and to enhance the customer experience. That is why the JD Power & Associates Study was a crucial implement. It allows automobile companies quick access to the customer, and knowing what the customer wants. Honda is a company that has greatly benefited from their success, especially this past year when Honda took steps to significantly reduce consumer car costs.
Most of us take for granted many of the wonderful technologies that we have today. One example would be the windshield wipers. Can you imagine not having windshield wipers? Even after the windshield wiper was invented in 1903 it was not electric. Instead, the driver had to reach out the window and do it by hand. This could be kind of tricky and dangerous to do while driving down the road. In 1910, the windshield wiper became a standard item on cars, but was still not made electric for years.
Even though the windshield wiper is a great feature to have, they can still be irritating. It’s amazing how often windshield wipers need to be replaced. This great little invention seems to wear out quite quickly. The rubber wears quickly causing the blade to not properly clear the windshield. Of course the one spot that seems to quit working first is right in the driver’s line of vision. For most people this is quite irritating, and causes a trip to the store for a new set. Here are a few things that will shorten the life of your windshield wipers and have you making the trip even more often.
Driving down the interstate you take the first exit leading to your favorite camping spot in the Blue Ridge Mountains. From that point on it is a thirty minute drive on winding, hilly roads before a final quick egress to a quarter mile long dirt path. With ease your SUV takes each hill and holds every curve with little strain on your engine or transmission. Before long you approach your final turn, slow down, and shift your SUV into four wheel drive. You delicately slip the front tires off of the pavement followed by the truck’s rear end and begin the nastiest, but most exhilarating journey of all: the washboard jaunt from roadway to camping spot. Over potholes and thick brush you finish the final leg of the trip and within minutes you pull into your private site overlooking the serene, broad valley below.
Driving an SUV gives you a chance to explore far flung areas that no other vehicle can possibly take you to, except for a four wheel drive truck. Your vehicle has been made for off road adventuring and only with the most difficult surface will it be able to prove its worth.

Many people rush into selling their car or trading their car before taking the time to really make sure that they do it right and get the most money out of the transaction. Here are a few pointers to keep in mind when selling or trading your car.
Before you put your car up for sale:
Not too many people compare models from the same manufacturer, it is simply something that just isn’t done. Still, when the models are similar enough in development, yet very different in price, the question to be asked about the more expensive car is this: is it worth the premium? Both the Ford Fusion and Lincoln Zephyr share the same platform along with the Mercury Milan. The base price differential for the two models is nearly ten thousand dollars, quite a big difference for the two cars. Is the Zephyr overpriced? Or, is the Fusion that much more of a better buy? Or, perhaps the answer lies somewhere in between. Let’s check out the two cars and see how they compare.
The Ford Fusion is a welcome addition to the Ford line up as the venerable but aging Taurus leaves the fleet. Along with the full size Five Hundred sedan and the Freestyle crossover vehicle, these new models are part of the overhaul changes put in place by Ford to get the brand moving again.
Alright, all you soy sipping, yogurt eating, diet doing, hybrid driving, environmentally eccentric folks from Vancouver: listen up. You may be causing more damage to the environment than you already know. How so? Your Audi’s air filter, that’s how. Yes, it is true: if you keep your car long enough you will be performing under-the-hood maintenance which will include changing your air filter at least once a year. Keep that same car for ten years and that is ten years of stuff clogging North America’s landfills. And you call yourself earth friendly? Tsk, tsk!
All kidding aside, there is an environmentally friendly way whereby if you follow just one small, but important step you can achieve oneness with nature, if not with your wallet: replace your car’s disposable air filter one final time with a reusable air filter.
The number of diesel powered cars on North American highways has been dropping steadily ever since their peak in the mid 1980s. For many motorists, diesel engines conjure up images of pollution, poor power, and unreliability. However, one generation later and all that is about to change. New diesel powered vehicles will soon be arriving, in fact one is already here and receiving critical acclaim from auto enthusiasts.
Who can forget those diesel powered Chevrolet Caprices and Oldsmobile 98s that suddenly became very popular 25 years ago? If you are like many car owners, you want to forget those cars. What GM did back then was to take existing gasoline engines and convert them to diesel engines. These converted engines were loud, smoky, and very unreliable. They were unreliable to the point where GM had to pay tens of millions of dollars to replace failed engines with gasoline engines.
How should you go about locating Acura parts so that you can save a few dollars and do repairs at home rather than at the dealer? Doing repairs at home has saved me a lot of money over the years. At the cost of only my time, I have been able to do repairs at a small fraction of what a dealership or garage would charge for the same service. So, if you enjoy working on your car, doing repairs at home can be a great way to save some money. However, when it comes time to fix your Acura, where do you go to find Acura parts at a reasonable price? There are a few places you can look that will help you to get what you need at a price you like. The first place to look for affordable Acura parts is, of course, on the internet. By using a search engine you will be able to look world wide quickly for those who may be selling Acura parts. Check first for specific Acura part dealers who may be stockpiling a lot of the parts you need and selling them at a lower price than the garage you had been using was. You can also check for general car part websites that may even give you access to their inventory database so that you can see if they have the Acura parts you need and at what price they are selling them. Look for sites that offer free shipping or discounts over other prices you have seen. The next place to look is the old fashion way of finding Acura parts or parts for any other model: the junk yard. Find your local junk yard. You will have to likely wade through the rows of junked cars to find Acuras, but once you do you will have access to many Acura parts that the yard will likely sell you at a very reasonable price. Make sure you bring your tools, though, because you will likely have to remove the Acura part yourself and the junk yard is not in the business of loaning out tools. Third, check the classified ads in your local paper. Often times if people are going to sell their car for parts, they may do so through the paper. Look for Acura parts listed or start calling some of the ads. Sometimes you stumble on someone who knows someone that may be able to help you get the Acura parts you need at a good price. Like with anything else, sometimes it is just about networking. Doing repairs on your Acura yourself is a great way to save yourself a few bucks. In addition to saving on the labor, you can do a little research and likely save yourself money on the parts as well. Do some research to find Acura parts you may need at great prices by going on line, checking your local junk yards, and even making some calls to those advertising in your local paper’s classifieds. You will be happy with what you will be able to save on Acura parts by just doing a little calling around and some leg work, plus you just might have fun.

Prices for top selling luxury cars can easily top $50,000 when taxes, destination charges, and dealer prep fees are factored in. Generally, this isn’t a problem as the customer who purchases a vehicle of this renown can afford the big price tag. However, automakers have learned that there is a market for “entry level” luxury cars for up and coming buyers who want the name without paying the steep price. The dilemma for automakers is not to water down the product line, rather to offer a car that upholds the marquee without diluting its value. One such car that has successfully filled that criterion is the Jaguar X Type, the focus of this review.
Admittedly, I am biased toward purchasing American cars even through the ups and downs of the U.S. car industry. Still, I am fascinated by changes that occur in vehicles throughout the world as I know that at some point those changes will be incorporated into cars traversing North American highways. One such feature that I have seen grow more commonplace is the use of all wheel drive to power automobiles. Subaru, for years, has offered all wheel drive across their model line, but few cars – foreign or domestic – have incorporated what has chiefly been the realm of sport utility vehicles.
Whether you own an ‘89 Toyota Supra Turbo, a ‘96 Ford Mustang GT convertible, or a 2004 Dodge Magnum SE, you have something in common with other owners: you appreciate performance. Truly, each of these three models as well as tens of others have kept up the performance under the hood while offering designs that are aesthetically unique and appealing. Chances are, however, you are not completely satisfied with your car’s look. Have you considered customization? If so, the costs can be quite high. Let’s look at three, easy to install accessories that can give your car that personalized look without busting your budget.
Car Bras – Popularized during the 1960s on select European models, car bras began to catch on in the U.S. by the early 1980s thanks to LeBra, a leading manufacturer of car bras. Early Supra models featured the beefy bras which offer both a styling flair and hood protection. Mustangs, Camaros, Corvettes, BMWs, and so many other cars are now sporting customized LeBra car bras. They look great on most vans, trucks, and SUVs too!
I grew up in the era of moms and dads teaching us to drive. Yes we had Driver’s Ed, however, Driver’s Ed classes didn’t start until our senior year, by then most of us already knew how to drive. After all, at 16 we all wanted the coveted “learners permit!”
My father taught me to drive. First we went over the basics, starting, stopping, the gauges, how the car worked, what to do on wet, dry roads, turns, and anything else my father could think of to have me prepared for any situation. Things you weren’t going to get from Drivers Ed. My dad shared his many years of experience, and it made me a better driver than most of my female and many of my male counterparts.
Kia is planning to bring to the American market a new type of vehicle – a seven passenger crossover – that will compete against the likes of the Toyota Matrix and the Dodge Caliper. The Kia Carens will be sold later this year in Europe and will likely make it to the U.S. market as the Kia Rondo at about the same time. Demand for crossovers continues to rise as the market adjusts to this relatively new type of vehicle. Will the Rondo succeed? If early press reports are any indication then the answer is yes.
Kia’s aggressive surge on the world scene is being made evident through new or proposed factories in Europe and in Georgia, USA. As a subsidiary of the mighty Hyundai group, Kia has long stood for being the budget Korean brand while Hyundai is the company’s value brand. The proposed Rondo will continue Kia’s tradition of providing decent quality small vehicles for prices that are thousands of dollars less than the competition.

Anne Bridgeton was accustomed to taking her ‘99 Camry on weekday excursions from her home in the Kentucky foothills to her job some thirty miles away. By traveling along narrow, twisting back roads and avoiding the interstate, Anne’s trip took an additional fifteen minutes each way but it was a small price to pay as one of the benefits included viewing a bucolic landscape replete with farms and forested areas, and pocketed by small stores. Somehow the sterile scenery of the interstate was more unnerving than calming, even unsettling at times. Besides, no tandem trailers took the Kentucky backgrounds unlike the interstate which was full of them. Staying out of their way was the chief reason Anne avoided the interstate.
