Driving Tips - What the Highway Code Doesn't Say

When you hear that 18% of the serious accidents which occurred over the holiday period were caused by drivers with more than the legal alcohol limit in their blood, do you ever say to yourself "Ah, but that means that 82% of drivers involved in serious accidents were SOBER"? I do and I'm not surprised because a large percentage of drivers just don't concentrate on what they're doing when they're behind the wheel of a car. If you don't want to become just another accident statistic, follow these tips which you may not find in the Highway Code.

3) Get a good rolling start before you accelerate, in order to build momentum.

4) Don’t over accelerate but make sure to accelerate enough the first time. (Re-accelerating is where we burn over 85% of our gas.)

5) Don’t over decelerate. (Re-accelerating is where we burn over 85% of our gas… The more and the better you ‘read traffic’, the less you’ll unnecessarily decelerate and the more gas you’ll save.)

6) Change lanes properly to prevent slowing. (Re-accelerating is where we burn over 85% of our gas… When you ‘look ahead and read traffic properly’, you can prepare for lane changes thus preventing slowing for yourself and for many others. You save gas for yourself as well as for many others.)

7) Use gravity (to help gain momentum) when going down hill. (Gravity is a natural source of energy. You can use it to build momentum and to save a considerable amount of gas.)

I was letting my car warm-up I notice that what I thought was water moisture coming out of the tailpipe was not a solid mist but litlle drops blowing out. I held a paper towel in front of the pipe and had someone lightly punch the gas then it was a little more of like if you did a light spray of window cleaner on a paper towel.
