This is according to an announcement given out by VMI. The minivan is the Honda Odyssey and it was Northstar who did the conversion. The new Honda Odyssey has been specifically redesigned by Northstar. According to the latter, they made sure that everything with regards to the Honda Odyssey was changed so as to suit and keep the accessing of wheelchair users easier. Even the design, validation processes, and engineering were completely looked over. Perhaps only the exterior auto parts Honda seemed to be those that were not changed. Northstar also does say that this project of theirs is actually the latest in their list of lowered floor side entry minivan conversion. |
However, not all of the innovative technology and attention to detail is obvious at first glance. This five spoked American Racing wheel was accepted on the drag strip by increased brake cooling and was much lighter and stronger than stock steel wheels. This “mag” wheel, as they were called in the 1960s, went from the strip to the streets and started the custom wheel trend of the 1960s and 1970s. A set of genuine Torq-Thrusts custom wheels are very collectible even today.
Different designs have evolved over the years and American Racing still offers the “Torq-Thrust Original” along with the Torq-Thrust D (1-piece alloy) and Torq-Thrust II (2-piece alloy) plus a Torq-Thrust ST for trucks and SUV’s. All the Torq-Thrust rims provide a wider track, lower stance and sleeker more aerodynamic looking style to your car, truck or SUV. American Racing has what it takes to sustain their dominant position in the custom wheel industry for another 50 years.

Your stalwart friends have carried you for thousands of kilometres, through thick and thin, through heat and snow, but they are reaching the end of their life. The end of their life as automobile tires anyway. The amount of tires that reach the end of their life every year is truly staggering. Exact numbers aren't currently available, but if you piled up every tire discarded in North America rest assured that you would have a really, really big pile of tires. Some estimates says that every year one tire gets to the end of the road for every man, woman, and child on the continent. |
