The cylinders are combined in such a way because the engine pistons fire 1 and 3 then 2 and 4 and the exhaust of cylinder 4 is going to create a little (from 5 to 15 psi) negative pressure for a cylinder 1 that is going to help to suck out the exhaust gas out of that cylinder. |
